*cough* you forgot the pics tran, YOU FORGOT THE PICS!!! :p

dont ya hate it when you go through pairs of batteries taking pics,

Ok Aaron, I will try out those tips you gave me and I maybe I will have some more pictures soon. If I get lucky I will catch one of them balancing on a plant in a Karate Kid stance :D I missed it last time while getting the settings just right on the camera. Right now, I'm looking for a really big cardboard box to cut up and surround the tank, haha.

And yes, the battery does run out often. Good thing I have one of them charging when I use the other one... :p

The melanoid looks better to me. Those are some really nice pictures and those are great set ups.

Hi all. It's been a while and I've torn up the tank somewhat and renovated. It had really high nitrates so after doing some water changes, I decided to get live plants to deal with the problem! Also I switched the leucistic out and put the wild type in its place (hubby wanted that one for the other tank).

Just wanted to show you some pictures of what the tank looks like now

Great job!!
I'm really proud of you.
You do such great work !
Awesome!!!

Fantastic setup! I really like the layout, it looks super clean but still natural somehow. How many watts are you running for lights? I am curious because I am going to be changing mine this weekend.

btw.. i think our axies are siblings

Thanks! I was my goal to have it look semi-natural but still controlled. The light I'm using is 28W T5 6700K (equivalent to 40W T12) but since its more efficient it gives out the same light with less wattage. I believe this to be about 8-11 lux-per-square-inch so it's a low light situation in the tank. Axies don't seem to mind the light being on for 10 hours a day, they just walk around like normal.

Yes they are siblings...how did you know? I separate them by a divider so in case they turn out to be one male and one female they wont mate.

Great shots (I particularly like your portrait of the brown axolotl - very cool) and, as others have said, it looks like you've got a great set up.

Great set up,and good looking Axolotls:cool:

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your nice comments :)

Thanks for the info about lighting Tran. I am going to shop around for that now.
