Tylototriton kweichowensis bred

As of today I count about 100 eggs. I see growth in about 50 of the eggs, Some are real white and obviously bad. Some are a little opaque and I havn't given up hope on them. I have decided to keep the eggs as they were laid. The ones on the cork seem to be developing faster, This could just be my perception. It is possible they weren't laid at the same time. The ones in the water might have been laid after the cork was full. I think I will have success both in and out of water as long as I flip the cork bark when the eggs are ready to hatch. The eggs on the cork are in nooks and crannies and I don't want to peel them off. I think out of the water their will also be less problem with fungus. I took a few pictures and will post after I have a series from laying to hatching.

I have a strong suspicion that the ones out of the water are developing slightly faster because of the temperature difference - those in the water would be slightly cooler than those out of it. Simple as that. In any case, good luck with them all. I'm sure you won't have any problem finding homes for them.

There were quite a few that died in the eggs. I have about 15 to 20 little wigglers eating newly hatched artemia. I have another plump female so maybe their will be more eggs. I think the next time I'll put all of the eggs in the water as suggested.

The update is their are 5 juveniles left at about 1.25 inch. The Tylototriton verrocusus laid and I have more than 50 hatchlings and more eggs. The hatch rate was better and they are a little easier to care for. The verrocusus seemed to lay a bunch of eggs and then keep dropping a couple eggs every now and then.

Good going, Michael. And further congratulations on the verrucosus breeding!

I'll go photograph his stuff when they lay again. The first time I was still in South America, but I have the whole camera rig ready now. If they lay Tuesday I can photograph his oldest son's wedding and then some extra marital salamander affairs...
