Hello
my tylototriton shanjing, changed tastes.
not eat earthworms and now does not want the chicken breast.
he eats only mealworms.
I am afraid that soon he will not eat even the mealworms.
why do this?
the tytlo has three years of life and has always eaten earthworms

Find this post interesting. I had observed mine eat blood worm one week then go off it but crickets never seems to fail. Have heard them eating bits of fish.

Have you changed the type of earthworms?,try feeding with other food like ,waxworm, woodlice, dusted cickets and different worms such as lob and dendrobena,i had this happen with juvenile shanjing i dont know why they suddenly change their mind and eat different food constantly

wow ... an amphibian capricious .... my problem is to look for these other types of food that thou hast recommended
** I always use the same type of worm ... grown in my balcony.
I hope to come back to eat earthworms.
the other day the TYLO made the changes, this may be the accusation of change of taste?

Hi Salatriton!
Try to feed him with his natural prey, that means worms, snails and insects you find in your garden, given nobody uses any type of pesticides in there. Offer him a variety of prey items, so he can choose himself. You can also buy live worms of all types, crickets a.s.o. in pet shops.

Hope that helps
Greetings
Tom

thanks for the advice.
But in my town stores do not sell live foods ....
the only food that I can find in stores fishing are worms and maggots.
otherwise I have to go to Catania for the mealworms.
there is also very cool to find bugs in the courts ... but I'll try with snails

Might take frozen blood worm on tweezers. I try to mix the diet weekly.

Also try the maggots.you should maybe look at culturing some other foods to feed them
Waxworms and woodlice nd maybs some garden white slugs

hello
today my tylototriton is back again to eat worms!
I do not know maybe I have an amphibian master chef ...
really strange.
however, I present to you my friend chef

I feel so ...
Let's see if the check post

When you said you fed your shanjing chicken was it fresh or cooked pieces.

Also I have heard of feed them fish but would it be fresh or cooked fish?
Has anyone experimented what they feed there shanjing?

hello
I know that all the food out of the normal diet, then chicken or fish, should be given raw ... it's appreciated but freeze before the food, so as to eliminate possible parasitic

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
