I posted a couple of months ago about a petshop mixing species, i went to another one, one that i go to often for herp supplies and they had fire belly newts in with fire belly toads. they were in about a inch of water with just a rock to get dry on. This made me so mad, i told them and wrote on their face book page about it but last i seen the two were still together in the same tank.

If the water was clean and the animals fed, it doesn't sound like a big issue to me. Both species are fairly docile, of comparable sizes and habitats, and predominantly aquatic.

Bombina will try to eat a small newt if they can. They won´t succeed if it´s an adult, but it will still cause severe stress and possibly injuries. There´s also the risk of pathogen exchange. It may not be the worst mix possible, but it´s definitely not good for either of them.

I know it doesn't seem like a huge issue, but i just don't want an animal to die because someone was stupid and decided to save room.
