Well the good news is that I worked out (on my own) how to import most of the forum - we have everything except about 30 messages (I wasn't prepared to spend the 4-5 hours necessary to fix that small problem). We might be short a few threads but I don't think it matters.
If you look at the forum as it stands at the time of this posting, you'll see the place is a mess. That's becase of what I had to do to successfully import messages. I'll have to dump messages into specific topics tomorrow.
The users were imported too but I haven't "cleared" them from the imported users group into the donor/registered users or whatever yet. That I'll do tomorrow.
Soon as all of the cleaning up is done, I'll switch the old domain. I'm quite happy right now, after all the pain and anguish of the last week. I'll put a message on the old forum cover page to let people know things are bueno.
