Urgent! Tadpole near death

I have this tadpole and the other day i noticed his face seemed red and swollen. today hes at the surface sitting there, mouth hardly moving, with a gaping hole in his chin. Any idea what this could be? will it spread to my other tadpoles? the ammonia has been very high the past few weeks because the tank is still being cycled ): please help!

Did you notice any small injuries? It looks like an infected ulcer of some sort

the only thing i noticed was swollen redness around his head near his mouth a three days ago, now its turned into this.

Ammonia could make him weak causing an infection to more easily spread.

after claiming 6 of my ten tadpoles this problem has subsided. the water parameters have become under control and none of my other tadpoles have had this problem. one actually morphed and is having a different problem which was my fault. i've removed him from the tank though and he should be fine.
