I need your help!! So i ordered brine shrimp eggs tuesday with 2 day shipping so theyd arrive by thursday. In plenty of time for my new hatchlings. Well here it is sunday and now amazon is telling me my package may be lost. It started in san marcos TX then went to the Tyler facility by thursday morning then no update since then. I like in Dallas Ft Worth. So here i am with axies thatll be hatching any day and im ordering some more brine shrimp eggs but not sure what to feed them until i finally get my eggs. Any substitutes or a way to get eggs locally?

In a big city like that, you should be able to find eggs at an aquarium store. If not, Hobby Lobby/Target/toy stores might have sea monkey kits.

I'd also look around for local fishkeepers' clubs and online forums for live food.

Good luck.

I found some really tiny, almost powdery meat pellet for aquatic animals at my local petsmart.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
