Here are some shots of an undescribed pale colored Vietnamese Tylototriton.

I think it resembles verrucosus. Only this animal is much lighter and the ribbs on his head are less present. Perhaps a new species, or a subspecies.
Any more photo's?

That's simply amazing, Henk. I'm left speechless and need some time to collect my thoughts

I very much look forward to seeing more pics of this one and hearing your observations.

No I don't keep any of these myself (wishfull thinking that's what it is). I ust went visiting the person who has them. This is indeed a pale colored one, there were also some others more darker ones. I have brought home some giant T. verucosus though and these were also very different to the guys I have (much lighter and extremally large ...

And here are some shots of other animals. Have a look at the shape of head..

Wow Henk this is great! Are these the same unknown tylototriton/echinotriton that where described in last amphibia? Those were from Vietnam too

yes, and it is strange Henk that you don't note this with the pictures. They were first shown last year in Gersfeld and this year there will be again a presentation on them. So...go there: see www.ag-urodela.de!

Not strange, since I don't have the amphibia magazine, but indeed I was present at the lecture offcourse last year...anyway yes they are the same ,now a year later. I was happy to take the shots and show them that's all nothing more to search behind this though+...

The last magazine of AMPHIBIA (just out..so Wouter refers to the previous one) even has an article of your hand in it Henk!

...so better try to get it!
For all the others: AMPHIBIA is the magazine produced by the two working groups (Anura and Urodela) of the german DGHT. It featured some of the lectures that were given on the meetings, besides some other interesting articles on amphibians. You can buy it loose on meetings or odrder it, but else you have to be a member of the DGHT to get it (www.dght.de)..and they will start to produce their famous Salamandra magazine totally in english from 2005 on!

Well well I didn't even know my article was published yet... since I didn't yet send in the images.

Hopefully, some persons favourite traders do bigger efforts in selling such animals out,...
Nice items for international trading and for people, forgetting about the animals itself, while having their dollar-shades in front of their eyes,........
But absolutely amazing animals,....
Can't wait to raise Juveniles,....one day,.....

Philipp
