What about this tank?

I think 'haven' might be a bit of a strong term! How about the hagen ones? They have bigger footprints..

Why not just buy a 10 gallon aquarium? They're not any more expensive or much larger, and you can get a secure lid instead of some cheap plastic thing that may or may not be escape-proof.

At our local Petsmart, I can buy a 10-gallon tank and screen lid for under $20. You can convert a clear plastic storage box into an aquarium, but the "view" is not nearly as good. Also, try asking around for used tanks - they often turn up at garage sales, Craig's List, Freecycle, etc.

I am using exo terra breeding box and I am very happy with them.

You can pile up several of them, and even so you can feed your newts without dismonting the pile. Also the ventilation is asured even when they are piled.

I am very surprised about the cheapness of the acuarium in USA. Here you cannot find anything less than 60 L for 60€.

For some reason 10 gallon tanks seems to be cheaper in America than they are here. I may be in luck as I have been speaking to someone who is selling 2 paddle-tailed newts and a tank for £15
Only problem is though, She lives in Spalding, Lincolnshire and I live in Birmingham.
