Hi, new to the group :)
It seems I have 2 colours, albino (like dad) and like a camouflage (mum is black)
Just wondered if anyone knows what they'll grow into? They don't look like the wild type pics I've seen.

I’m not an expert but Iv looked at a lot of baby and adult axolotls. The one on the left is probably a copper (though could be a wild as well) while the right is likely either an albino like you said or a lucy. It’s hard to tell at that stage but based on their colors those are my guesses.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
