Hey guys! I'm panicking a little bit. Does this look like a fungal infection or bacterial? I lost a little lotl not long ago to septicemia and have tried so hard to be so careful with my other guy but the tank STILL hasn't cycled despite my efforts and just now this little patch of white and pink has appeared on Peanut's gills. I'm freaking out cause I dont know what it is and I dont know how to treat it.
Please help me with your axie expertise, I'd be so grateful for any help and recommendations

It looks like a small blob of fungus to me.

If so, tub your lotl so that the gill is sticking out of the water, and have a fresh tub of water ready nearby.
Mix up a solution of salt water - 1 teaspoon of uniodidised salt and 300ml of water. Homebrand is fine.

Now get a cotton bud and dip it in the salt water, then dab at the gill. Keep dipping in the salt water and dabbing, it should come off onto the tip on the cotton bud.

It may sting your lotl a little, but it saves having to do a complete salt bath for a tiny spot.

I would then keep it tubbed over night - for a day to ensure the fungus is all gone.

Thank you so much for your help! I dabbed him with the little salt cotton bud (and hes currently chilling out in the fridge cause it's like 36 degrees here) and it looks like it has worked as the little fungus has dropped right off, and I was able to get rid of it. Thankyou so so so much again.

Yay glad I could help

I used to put my kids in a wine fridge over summer, the house we were renting had no air con and the landlord refused to even put a small window one in. The house got to over 50c.....thank god we now have ducted air con and the house at a constant 18c (or whatever we set it at). It’s great being able to leave them in their tanks
