Dang I saw this a little too late. Actually my 1st guess was going to be Triturus. Glad to see more albino cristatus.

UPDATE
I have ended up with two females and 1 male, they are all showing signs of maturity, with male cresting up and tail wafting.
That means that[ as with other cresteds Ive raised] they have gone from egg to maturity in less than a year
 
latest pics, will try get one of the male with his developing crest soon, as hes a shy one and hides each time he sees a camera lol

I'm not normally that fond of albinos, but there's no denying he is a beautiful, truly stunning creature!

I was wondering, does he still have the silver/white stripe on his tail like normal cristatus? Its hard to tell from the pictures.
 
I didn't realise this was two years ago mate? Where has the time gone?
Have you had any joy with these breeding yet?
 
I was looking for this thread the other week, didn't think to look here!
The pictures don't really do him justice, I don't much care for colour 'morphs', but he is beautiful in the flesh, and naturally occurred from normal coloured parents as I understand it.
 
Yes they came from normal coloured parents.
And yes i have eggs from the albinos but a very limited amount were layed a month or so ago then the laying stopped for some reason.
I am not having the best of luck this year, my laotriton only layed one, yes one egg then stopped.
The crested eggs are now larvae and growing well
 
The small amount of eggs layed and raised are now juvenile newts?
I am giving them a short while observing them in a terrestrial set up to make sure they are eating etc then I will be putting them up for sale.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
