I recently rehomed my axolotl Dr. Piglet, as she (?) was too much of a bully for her tank mate. After a few days in her new home, her new person found this jelly like brown and white ball in the tank. She described it as having a little fleshy protrusion at one point, and white with a ring of brown. At first she thought egg, but it is so large and only one, so she was unsure. She sent me the pics below to ask if I knew, but I have seen nothing like this before. So I thought you lovely people might have some ideas. Apparently it disintegrated today, backing up my first impression that it was not an egg. Could she have eaten something that didn't sit well and passed it in a slime and poo coating? Is it some sort of reproductive thing? Any other ideas?

It could be axolotl poop :) If it doesn't disintegrate then it may be some sort of stone perhaps that your axolotl has passed.

That was kind of what I was thinking, like maybe she ate something like a stone and passed with with some mucus around it protecting her gut on its way out. It apparently did disintegrate, but I'm not sure if the new owner found any object in its place. Just odd that it was so round and jelly like.
