Very quick question! I'm looking for black aquarium sand for my new tank. Some of the 'sand' I'm looking at on eBay has grains as big as 1.6mm. Would that be safe for axolotls? Mine are about 2/3 on their way to being fully grown!

Please see the attached link for information on sand substrate.
It says that any sand is suitable for axolotls, including that with a grain size up to 2mm, which suggests that the sand that you are looking at on ebay should be acceptable.

Make sure that you wash the sand well
