Question: What the heck is going on???

Using something dead to cycle a tank is THE BEST way to do it. A piece of raw shrimp...can't get any faster than that. Cycled a salt water tank in a week that way with some dead rock as opposed to the months people complain about using damsel fish.

and if you use frozen shrimp/pure ammonia nothing is going to grow in the tank that would not be normally growing(freezing shrimp kills the bacteria, and pure ammonia isn't going to add anything). I actually just cycled a salt tank with frozen shrimp with dead rock in a week as well Lizzy, what a coincidence.
