What you do to fight Mosquito??

I just have to say: Mosquitoes in the continental US have NOTHING on the mosquitoes in the boreal forest. I was woozy by the end of the day from blood loss. A combination of bug nets and Cutter barely slow 'em down. They even bit through Carhartts!

Yep, the bugs in the Boreal area of Canada are monsters. Thankfully Southern Ontario is about 12 hours South of the Boreal line, and is far more temperate, containing Carolinian forest areas.... just like Alabama. There aren't any black flies in this area, just regular, run of the mill mosquitos.

I agree with the OP, DEET based repellants should not be used by anyone who intends to handle amphibians.
