Just wondered if anyone had an idea of the actual species. It was imported as a Hyla marmorata (Dendrosophus marmoratus) from Guyana. However it doesn't really match up to any other pictures i've seen, I guess it's from the marmoratus group but if any one has an idea that would be great.

sorry about the links but i couldn't get them to show when i posted them into the text.

thanks

Ben

from what it looks like its an amazonian milk frog. very fun frogs. hard to come by. but if its not that from the first pic it looked like a glass frog. hope this helped

It's definitely not an Amazon Milk Frog. It could be a Hyla marmorata, but the colors/patterns are a bit different from what I've seen as well. I'd guess that it's a close relative.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
