What's the gender of this axie? (Another thread like this, sorry)

Sorry for another gender guess thread thingy.
But I recently bought an axolotl (it's about 22 cm) and I was planned to buy a male.

The owner had about 10 axolotls of this size left and this one looked the most like a... male. He has the biggest 'bulge' of 'em all
(Anyway: I suck at seeing the difference in tail length and stuff like that...)

I really hope it's a male (or I'll end up with 7 females.... rawr!) and I hope you guys 'n gals can help me (and my axie ofcourse) out.

Oh and the previous owner fed him bloodworms and now he won't take earthworms whatever I try... I rinse them, wiggle them, feed the smallest but he keeps spitting 'em out and he is pretty much hiding behind his fave plant. -_-'

You've definitely got a pretty healthy looking male there!

As far as getting him to take earthworms, try letting him go without food for a couple of days and then try again. If not, then mix some earthworm pieces in with the bloodworms so he can get the idea. How big are the earthworms? If they are that much larger, that could be a problem. One of mine is scared of nightcrawlers (Lumbricus Terrestris are huge) but accepts red wigglers (Eisenia foetida) - so I have a wormery of red wigglers.

About the worms. I don't know the exact species (I think they are red wigglers). I've bought them at a local bait shop. They're all different sizes. Some of them are HUGE but he looks scared of the big ones. The tiny ones (even small enough for my youngest 15 cm axie) are a bit more interesting to him but he also spits them out.

I'll try it after a few days and see if he's hungry then.

But another question.
Most male axolotls I see on pictures have a bit more bulgy cloaca than my axie. But he has a bigger one than the females I have.

Does the size of their male-ness differ so much?

He's definitely male. Although I have seen males with a bigger cloaca region as you say as well.
They seem to vary. I'm thinking they're bigger when it's breeding season?

This ones cloaca looks like my male/female wild.

I cannot fully tell what she is.
She's smaller in bulge than my male, but bulgier than my female!?!

Her body shape points toward female but i'm not sure.
I think i'll start a new thread with some pics of her/him!

I actually think mine and yours could be female....
