What's your weirdest find while Herping?

If i found one i would have a "set free" pet but i would never be able to have a fancy goldfish. I once found a ingered frog i so should have taken it in.

Do dig up a fossil thread, once in Florida when I was herping a costal area, I found a dead dolphin. Not even kidding. It smelled and there were a lot of flies around it. Sadly no photos of it, but I remember it very clearly

No, a Dolphin corpse. Just sitting there, decaying and smelling. It was early though, there wasn't much red or decay, it must had died recently

Empty alcoholic beverage bottles around a campfire that was out in the woods, i assume from kids/teens
Plenty of dead animals and their remains
A knife laying on the ground
A marijuana or meth smoking "station" in the woods, complete with chairs

Nothing too weird yet...

I am. I haven't gone back there yet, but might sometime as the herping possibility is very tempting.

All this has me in stitches! Blow up dolls, distilleries? Why did you only put the photo of the, and not the body, Jaymes��. Could have attracted casualty tourism to the city.

Well we also found dough, while herping, $75 wadded up. Quite sure it was from a somebody buying drugs as the zombies were out. Searched and searched for Salamandra once, but found a huge fire sally poo! Once I was catching frogs at camp while everyone worshiped the flag, so I found myself being punished by cleaning the camp for 5 hours (child labor) until my parents arrive to take me home at midnight with no camping ��. Then there was the time I WASN'T herping. Just in my suburban backyard playing Indiana Jones and I found a Taricha granulosa which had escaped couple years before!

This was a more pleasent than weird experience, but another time I was out herping for fire salamanders in Austria with my father. And we somehow emerged from a clearing in the forest onto someone's driveway. It belonged toa Polish family getting ready for dinner on their front porch. After we explained what we were up to, they insisted we joined them for dinner while they told us where they had last seen some fire salamanders (unfortunately we didn't find any that day)

Lets share some wild stories of what you find while herping. People have told me some crazy and random things about finds while herping. Lets share!

My most recent find was today. I found this huge pad of some sort, looks like a women's pad. Honestly I've found some before under the same log. Seems like a woman jogger keeps a stash of pads in the woods for convenience. Its always a shock because it seems like it actually jumps out at you when you lift the log, like a frog or toad puffing up for defense.

Other worthy mentions found under logs

A private diary- Under a fallen tree nicely hidden, I didn't touch it
Left shoe 5 inch heels- Under a wet log, scared me
Mens underwear- In VA herpweek 2011
Dead body- Detroit river

A flock of peacocks deep inside national forest
Stolen car parked in the middle of the woods
Arrowheads
Various people getting it on

And the kicker...
I flipped a neatly folded sex doll under a rock!

I have yet to find a body but I fully expect to.
