I've had larvae (which you can tell from my posts) for awhile, One of these larvae has almost become "morphed" into a spotted sallie (Ambystoma maculatum) "i believe"

*Its gills are pretty much gone, its turning darker, yellow markings and coatal grooves becoming easier to see and about 2" / 2-1/2" long

***Its still in the water and I have a rock in there for easy "exit" if it wants too.

-I have not witnessed it "come OUT" at all yet though.

***but since the "rock" isnt a "home" for this guy, I need to know *WHEN* I SHOULD TRANSFER it to a terrestial setup?

The first morning when you see it out of the water and on the rock, it's time to move it to a completely terrestrial setup.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
