Where would my hobby be without Caudata.org?

Forgot about this thread, thanks for digging it up again.

I would have gone into frogs instead of newts without Caudata.org (despite my love of frogs and toads, a dominance of anurans in a collection is now something I consider to be traitorous!).

Without Caudata.org, I probably would of given up and taken my axolotl back for a fish! Harsh words I know, but I had NO idea how to look after axolotls and every time I looked at his poorly self, it hit me right in the chest. But thankfully I came across this site and his now a big happy 30cm brute!

But thanks TO caudata.org, I now have 4 of the cute buggers, one of them overflowing into my mums kitchen. Not mention a obsessive addiction to axolotls now. :D

And of course, all the wonderful people I met on here, and all the most appreciated help I received in my axies time of need.

Without caudata I would have no way of showing pictures of others' herp rooms to friends and family to convince them that I am not a crazy hoarder.

Id probably be sitting there staring at an empty tank and have little to no knowledge of axolotls and information :) thanks I live the site
 
I am eternally grateful to Caudata & all those who take the time to post replies :)

This wonderful site is ad free & fantastic because it's well run & maintained.

I was excited when I realised you can make a small donation to help keep Caudata.org running - great if those of us who can afford a few bucks given in thanks which keeps the info easily available to those who need the info :)

Would I have a hobby without Caudata.org? :D My axolotls would probably be sick, I wouldn't have even had them if it was not for Caudata.org! Thank you Caudata.org! :happy:
 
Without Caudata.org I would still think I know how to keep newts and do it wrong and mess up, often times resulting in problems with the newts. Caudata.org really has been a HUGE help, and I have learned SO much! Its awesome to know if I have a problem, I can come on here and almost undoubtedly get help, its great.

So where would my hobby be without Caudata.org? Back to knowing nothing.

I wouldn't have an axolotl named Thor that shoots lightning bolts. I would have a an sick overpriced not cool leucistic sold as a neon green axolotl from buy-axolotls.com. Also i would have less dart frogs in my room because i learned about the wonders indian almond leaves work on tadpoles that are sick and saved some imitator tadpoles i got. Thanks Caudata haha.

My collection would be very limited compared to what it has grown to through this site. I wouldn't have been able to get all the valuable advice I have needed from other hobbyists and I wouldn't have all the old threads to look at for care and breeding techniques.

I would probably either not have an axie or have a dead axie.
 
I would not have anywhere near as many salamanders, if any at all. I get most of my information from here, from both the articles and breeders, that enabled me to successfully start up my current collection of animals and maintain them. So many other websites have information that is not helpful, or even just wrong so it is fantastic to be able to go on a website like this to get reputable animals from. Most of my salamanders came from breeders on this website too, aside from even the care information too. I would not know a fraction of what I do now if it weren't for this website, so I thank John and everyone else for making this possible. It is also really nice to connect with other people with the same interest too. I have never met another person that keeps salamanders in person myself. Most people don't even know what a salamander is, or think it is a reptile (probably my biggest pet peeve overall).

I would just like to say that I really appreciate all the great advice on this site. I have changed so much about the way I look after my axolotls since logging in. I wish I could go back and edit some posts to say - but not any more.
 
I'd be staring at my blue spotted. Waiting for him to do something until he looks at me then burrows into the bedding. Then i'd wonder if i'm the only one who loves these little things. Thanks caudata! :D

Non-existent. I wouldn't have anywhere to buy salamanders, I wouldn't know where to look for them, I wouldn't even know what the red-backed salamanders I see almost every week in the woods are. Plus, any salamander I had would probably die.
