You can't see it in these pics I guess but there's a little lump between legs and then the one in the picture behind the legs so I'm a little confused thanks for looking
 
Hi Liz-
From what I've seen it is usually pretty obvious if its a male! ? My axies are not a year yet- probably in spring I think. They are big but their nether-regions all look the same. You may need to wait a bit more!
 
Thank you and yes I've noticed the same looking at adult axolotl pictures on a search engine recently I want eggs eventually so I was just wondering what I had but I need to work on my patience :)
 
It's also slimmer than my other ones and eats the same amount so I don't know might still be too soon but thank you for helping maybe you can tell something by the pictures

Looks more like a female to me. A male has much bigger "lumps".

I looks like a female in my opinion but they have been known to suddenly produce 'man parts' at 18-24 months! :D

 
I think it's a male that is about to become mature enough to breed in a month or two.
 
I'm not familiar with Axies but i am familiar with other ambystomids and it looks like a male to me. -Seth
