Sorry for the bad quality picture. I'm not sure what's wrong my axies finger, I don't know if it's fungus or if her 2 new tankmates may have bitten her.

The water is fine though they're in a temporary tank due to painting, which may be too small for them. They're all female.

Update. I checked on her today and the same has happened to at least 2 more toes. I've removed her from the tank and she's alone now. Her limbs are red and look like the skin is coming off. One of my other axolotls died this week to unknown causes and I'm very worried about her.

I believe it is time for a vet, especially since you had another axolotl die recently.

I'm assuming that since you said the water is fine, you are checking regularly for ammonia and nitrites? In a small temporary tank, they could rise to dangerous levels rather quickly.

Is the temporary tank a regular aquatic tank, or some other container that may not be safe for axolotls?

Perhaps one of the experts knows, are axolotls sensitive to any kind of paint fumes?

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately there are no vets near me. The skin is falling off her limbs and another finger has gone white. She's in a plastic tub I've used for special cases before and I change the water everyday. She barely moves, and didnt struggle when I moved her earlier. Also, the other axie died and she got ill before I started painting. :(
