Hey guys, my newt( who is a Californian) has some white skin on his head, it has the same texture as his other skin, and I'm worried, is this normal? Is he shedding? Is he sick? Please help.

Hi, welcome to the site. :)
Its very hard to offer advice without seeing it, could you post a pic of him?

This site isn't very phone friendly, can I email them to you?

There's an app called Tapatalk that might help, it lets you access this forum and a lot of others

Unfortunately I'm camping right now and I don't have good service an email would work better for me because I can't download an app, but I will for sure use that app when I get back home thanks for the heads up!

He looks normal to me. I'm more interested in ...are those eggs in the tank?

Not to distract from you receiving help, but I wanted to say that the photos you provided are fantastic! Both in terms of quality and displaying what you were describing. Good job! Were they just taken using your phone?

Thank you! They were taken on a iPhone yes

Beautiful newt! Unless he isn't eating, he should be fine. I see a lot of Taricha torosa and Taricha granulosa with patchy coloring. So my guess is it's normal!:)
