white stuff on tank glass!!!

Hello, i’ve had me axolotls for two years now and never seen anything like this. i thought maybe it was a type of alge? i do i water change every week and clean off all the white stuff but few days later it grows back!!

it’s really hard to try and get a photo but i looks fluffy almost like a dandelion and it sways about but think that due to the water flow

Did you find out what this was and/or manage to get rid of it? I have exactly the same thing happening in my axolotl tank (only 6 weeks in!) I know exactly what you mean with the 'dandelion like' and moving with the water. Worried it might be hydra though as it does change when you touch it, but don't know. Any extra comments/thoughts would be really appreciated - have attached a couple of my pictures (equally hard to take a photo of though :/) I checked the water quality today and is fine.

nope! however i was told i should change my filter pads every 4-5 weeks but another told me not to so i stopped changing them and it seemed to have disappeared! not sure how tho but it’s gone thankfully! wondering maybe something to do with over cleaning

I've had that in my tanks before. It's just some bacteria buildup and is completely harmless. Doing some more frequent water changes and wiping the glass will reduce it, but it's generally nothing to worry about.
