Why did you give your axie that name?

My first two axies (16 years ago..oh my half my lifetime ago!) were named for ancient mexican gods.

Quetzalcoatl (The Plumed Serpent) Patron of wisdom, patron of the priesthood. He was a lovely Dark Melanoid - I called him Coatl for short - Loved to smash Elodea to ribbons! (plants recommended for Axies mind you!)

Xochiquetzal (Flower Feather) Goddess of love, beauty, and flowers. She was a gorgeous leucistic - I called her Xochi for short - she loved to dance on bubbles.

My present axies are Vader (loves to swim, swim, swim), Leia (loves to play, play, play) and Eowyn (loves to EAT, EAT, EAT - she's just big boned that's all!). :D

I've had a look on the internet and I found reference to another Mexican god of note:

"Xolotl (Monster): the phantom. Sorceror, dog-face god" ;)

my (green, not sure of correct term) one is called bubba-bacca.. as hubby wanted to call it chewbacca. and we wouldnt let him.
and my white one is called caspa-smoo. the dark one is my hubbys baby, and it turns out it's a girl.. :rolleyes:
and the little one caspa we think is a boy. and cause he was white we had to go with a modification of casper the ghost..
most of our fish are named after the start wars chareters... (blame my hubby for that):eek:
 
If its green then it may be a wildtype axolotl. You can always post a photo of it and someone can tell you if you're not sure.
 
my little one is called Askey
mainly because I gave up trying to get my 5yr old to say axie (she kept forgetting:rolleyes:) she would always say askey instead so it has stuck
 
I have Tofu and Miso.
Tofu got his name from being white and squishy.
I wanted them to have matching names, so then came Miso.
 
My girl's name is Dutchess. Her name is Dutchess because she was big and regal looking. Also, it was the first name my friend came up with, and it fitted XD

When I get my male, I'm naming him Ammonia Mike.
Don't ask why, I just want an animal named Ammonia Mike.

Uhoh. I named mine Axel. And his ladyfriend is Lotte (pronounced "Lott-uh"). Oh no, my naming skills are even worse than boring!

I named them that at the pet shop so I could remember what they were (so I could look them up and eventually find you all here). I thought of renaming Axel "Cassanova" or "Giovanni" after poor Lotte laid eggs twice in three weeks, but I also have two friends with these names and it kind of amuses me to call my new pets after them. Also, my daughter pointed out that Don Juan was reputed as a wooer of women, not a father of children.
 
Hello. We had managed to name three, Axie,Freckles and tiny. Unfortunately Freckles has just eaten tiny! My daughter is devastated and wants to rename Freckles to Hannibal.
 
i havent got a name for one but one is called satch after a guitarist mainly because... hes just got style like a kinda guitarist laid back kinda guy XD
 
Mine is called Adam, both because it's a reference from the anime series Evangelion and also because I plan on him being my first breeding male.

Also I have Unit 001 and Unit 002 in with him, respectively an Albino Cory and a Bristle-nose for cleaning purposes.

Hi, I've just become a member here, other guy from youtube told me to do it, but I don't know his name... I'm from Argentina, and maybe I write with some gramaticals mistakes, forgive me...:rolleyes:

Well... I've two axolotls, a leucistic female one, 27,5 cms long, wich is called Axúbela (It's going to be a hard explanation for this), and a golden albino, 18 cms long, which's name is Gotsila... just because it was tiny and yellow, and it has nothing similar to the real Gotzilla...:p

Well... those names where created by some friends of mine, and I liked them...

Here in Argentina, Batman has an ememy, who is called Gatúbela (the woman who looks and fights like a cat)... and one of my friends told me "Gatúbela", but I replied "It's not a cat, it's an axolotl", so he said "well, Axúbela"... and there it is...:D
 
i have 1 axie named marshall named by my nephew because his hero is rugby league star benji marshall. he wanted to call him benji but my missus reckons thats a bit of a wimpy name
 
My main man that I've had for five years is Sheirf Winslow, Winslow for short..

And my two new ones have some how been named Silus and Adi.

Where they all came from I have no idea. They just popped in my head.
 
I have three my wild type is named gizmo from the grimlins cause he kinda looks like one my luesistic one is mew cause he reminds me of the pokemon mew and my white albino is named izzy cause i thought that name was cute.
 
My Axolotl is called Spyro. Our daughter came up with it for no apparent reason but it really suits her (pet names for Spyro are Spyrograph, Spiros, The Dragon!)
We also have two goldfish. Again randomly named by our daughter Noddy & Superfish!
 
i was going to call mine spyro lol as in spyro the dragon
but then changed my mind and thought no ill call him axel and get him a mate and call her her lottie:rolleyes: that was untill i read this lol
now hes known as Falcor as in the film never ending story
 
i called my two beavis and butthead cos one is bigger than the other and they tend to argue alot.
 
Oh... I've got a great variety too :D I have an albino boy called Sue (Johnny Cash reference hehe...). My sweet little leucistic girl Leui or Lou Lou for short. Then there's Sarge, named by my friend who used to own him. And finally there's little Aphrodite or Aphro because she has very long, fluffy gills. So cute =)
