Why did you give your axie that name?

I have 2 leucistic Axies of unknown gender! One is called Lexi, he's named after my partners son who's middle name is Alexander, Lexi for short. He's named after him because they are both laid back. The other one is called Lottie, just bit boring I suppose, Lottie the Axolotl! But now she/he has kind of freckles on her face, so she's spotty Lottie! I kind of think of them as male and female, but as I said I don't know yet because they are still babies!
 
My 2 axolotls are female and my daughter named one Tilly, so the other one is now called Milly.
 
I named my leucistic axolotl Piccolo after the instrument and I have no idea why. I named my GFP leucistic Mowgli because when I got him, he was still just a baby who'd just gotten his legs and he was just swimming everywhere and being naughty, like the boy Mowgli is the Jungle Book ^^ .
 
Named mine Gomez after my work colleague Named Carlos Gomez He's a funny guy and Spanish so his name is quite Mexican sounding anyway and Gomez just suits my axie's face! I was going to get two axies and they would have been called Bernard and Manny (from black books) but now I want to get a white one called Mephisto (from southpark)!
 
We have Chunk, cause he has a chunk missing from his tail. We have AnnaMay, cause she looks like an anime cartoon, and my husband named is little baby Precious
 
I have a gfp wild type named Caligula after the Roman emperor because when he was a vicious little guy attacking his tank mates when I first got him. My friend had to keep him separate from all the others before I was able to get him a tank and everything. Now a days he's a laid back guy :). That and I named him that because I love learning about the Roman emperors.

When I finally get my dream tank, I want to add more to the family and name them after other emperors. Like a golden axie being named Augustus, a melanoid named Nero, and albino named Julius. And it's going to be a roman ruins theme :D

That's a really cool idea! There should be lots of decor out there to help you realize that dream tank!

My axies are named Squid Vicious and Ferdinand. Ferdinand is named after the famous linguist Ferdinand de Sassure and Squid got his name because my boyfriend thought that he reminded him of a Squid and it was a funny play on Sid Vicious (I'm a linguist who really loves punk rock if that helps with making the names make sense)!
 
My golden axolotl I called Sunny Boy after the orange frozen flavoured ice thingys LOL
 
Mine are called Eric and Godric after true blood. Cause I watch too much tv an am a bit of a geek. Dunno if they both boys tho :/ hope I don't have to change one to erica

We have two golden albinos, brothers, always been together, so we are thinking 'pairs" names.

i thought maybe Fred & Barney because i have a couple of nice rock caves on order for hides :)

Something will come to us, but we've had them for a while now and are still just "the boys"
 
My wildtype girl is named after Onyxia, the black boss dragon in the World of Warcraft and my boy is named after the white dog in an anime Gintama, Sadaharu (which means Spring in Japanese but sadly the spelling is the same in Chinese and has become a new slang for the term 'Calm D*ck')
 
Mine are Marshall and Maynard. Marshall was the first name that popped into my head when I saw him, and Maynard sounded good with Marshall. :)
 
Ours are called SpeedyGuts and CrazyMax.

Speedy Guts is the only way my little girl could say Speedy Gonzales and Crazy Max is shorten from Crazy Max the Mexican.
 
My Axolotl is named Colin, after Tim & Daisy's dog from my all-time-favourite-show 'Spaced' :D
 
When i get my axie he's going to be named Wooper from Pokemon. Clever right?
 
I named mine Janus.
I like mythology and looked at names.

Rose - as in Axl Rose
Oscar - as he's a Wild(e) type
Stumpy - the newest addition to the family named due to his lack of legs but hopefully we'll have to rename him before too long when they grow back :happy:

Not the most original of names and Oscar now turns out to be a girl anyway but 'his' name has kind of stuck now!

I named my two Ohm'r and Voltrata :D
After the religion me and my friends are creating at electronic school :p

I do remember commenting on the name Maxolotl, and that's exactly what I meant by 'creative' ;) And yes, I have seen Finding Nemo (it's a personal favourite- next to The Lion King). The yellow fish sees the bubbles and says "my bubbles!"...now that's gold! Could i be more of a child!? :lol:

haven't got names yet as i haven't got axolots yet...any day now the 73 eggs will start hatching, YAY!
i do however have a list of names i can choose from. I've accumulated many names from books mostly, adding a couple more to the list after every read (sounds very book wormy lol) or a particularly glorious movie! there was a name i could never figure out...it is from Lion King 2, Covu's half sister, sounds something like Vetalini...
