Why did you give your axie that name?

Ahem lets see

Giles is from Buffy the vampire slayer
Ren from ren and stimpy
Dizzle because it sounds cool
Oblina and Krumb are from ahhhh real monsters
Eyeless, well he has no eyes lol
Twisted sister was born with a twisted spine
And our newest is Poe after edgar allen :)

I named mine Koko. It's short for Olen Kokoanien which means "I am whole" in finnish. When I got him he was missing all of his gills and his two front legs, so I figured that the name was fitting after he grew it all back

I have nine baby axolotyls and gave them descriptive names so I could identify them. Nugget wildtype looked like it had little gold nuggets in black earth along its body. Dapples similiar to nugget except the tail reminded me of a dapple grey horse. Platinum and sterling were both a silver grey. Ghost and Spector white albinos. Paleface pale gold albino. Tiny who is the smallest gold albino. Speckles gold albino who is covered in iridophores even at the tender age of one month. Last one is Sparkles a leucistic with yellow and black spots on head and back and has a sparkly gold ring around her eyes.

I have Sebastian who hatched first from my eggs as Sebastian Vettel won a Grand Prix.....first in the race for life!!.......only trouble is eight months on I think he is a she!

I named my three axolotls Indiana, Morgan and Pedro. :D
I named him Indiana because he's adventurous and I had watched Indiana Jones the night before I got him.
I don't remember why I named one of them morgan to be honest. I s'pose morgan sounds like a rich fat man name and Morgan the axolotl is kinda big and fat.
I named my leucistic Pedro because I hear the name on this site somewhere and I thought it fit him quite well.

Well, I named my axie Nile because of the river. If she was a male i would have named it Amazon.

I named my golden albino Ozymandias, or Ozy for short after the character from Watchmen :)

I named my leucistic Cronus , for no particular reason other than it sounded cool

My golden axolotl is named Marlon, short for Marlamander James dean.
My best friend named him as she was the original owner. I think, marlamander is obvious, cause he's a salamander. But not sure about james dean aha.
Had to share cause I havent seen any axolotls with long names yet.

Only one lotl and her name is Fozz. I'm a big fan of the Muppets and I thought she looked a little Muppety. It started as Fozzie, but now is just officially Fozz. Not very interesting, but it stuck.

I named mine Miso!
Like the soup with seaweed and tofu in it. It was a tough choice between that and Asiago

My axolotls are called Rocket and Groot! I got 2 axolotls at the same time so I wanted paired names and I had just seen Guardian's of the Galaxy and loved it so I named my axolotls after 2 of the characters :D

I've called my latest one Pebbles...as he spent his first few days vomitting up pebbles whenever he ate.....hopefully he's now ok....I should rename him Pebblefree!!

i have sully who got his name from monsters inc because it stuck in my head as soon as i got the idea to get one and my other is names Zeppelin because shes a big fatty like a blimp and also Led Zeppelin.

My axolotl is called Aristotle, named after the ancient Greek polymath and philosopher. The name is very learned and is a complete contrast to my axolotl's vacant expression, so there's a kind of irony. Also it rhymes with axolotl and I do just love the name.

Hermit, as she hides a lot.
Dread, as the gills remind me of dreads.
Hannibal, as soon as she met Hermit and Dread she went and nipped both of them.

Pebbles, she was a rescue and pooped out 26 bits of gravel (her name was ugly mug until I thought of another name for her, she had no gills what so ever)

Opal, as she has a green tinge.
Onyx, as he's rather dark (Opal & Onyx came together so figured I'd stick to gemstone names for them).

Camo, as she blended in so well with her surroundings in her tank.

Being a teacher I let my students name our class Axies. We got them at different times and after they named our first Mrs Taco because of the Mexican connection and were intending to go down the same path with our second one but make it a tongue twister, I insisted he kept the name he came with Aristotle the Axolotl.

We have just had a batch of hatchlings and my daughter adopted 3. She named them:
Buddy because he seems to swim on his side and then rally and swim normally for a while and she found herself calling out "you can do it buddy" in encouragement.
Sonic because he was by far the quickest and loved to rush around.
Lucifer for the leucistic.

The plan is to have 4 axolotls but I'm still building my brood. My kids wanted to name them after the ninja turtles but I thought we could do better with the relationship between the artists and the axies so we named them after different artists.
El Greco - he's a melanoid. (Darker colors in El Greco's paintings)
Botticelli - luecuestic. (Pink/lighter colored paintings)
Seurat - wildtype. (He's spotty and Seurat painted pointism.)

Mine are named after gods/goddesses. I had just finished watching the show "Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?"
Hestia- (she's going to be my first momma axie once she's old enough, hence the goddess of the hearth, home, family) a lucy.
Artemis- (named for the goddess of the hunt) my wild-oid (I call her that since I couldn't tell when I got her what she was, turns out she's just a REALLY dark wild)
Loki- (the trickster) because she kept me guessing if shes a she or hes a he. Ended on a she lol. my gold

As soon as I get my hands on a male melanoid I'm naming him Erebus. The god of darkness.
