Wild P.Hongkongensis

Do you know where the animals lay their eggs, Michael? It seems to me that this habitat is completely different from the captive ones that are successful for breeding this species (I don't see any aquatic plants).

Sorry but I don't have any idea at all...D:

Hi, this is exciting to see this photos. I was born in HK but only started learning and loving amphibians and nature as I grew up in Canada. I am going back to HK for 2 weeks in January, I dont really think that it will be a good time to find caudata (am I right?), but I like to visit the habitat. Mind to share where the location is? Which park?

Thanks

P.S.- I wont be collecting any, not that I can ship back to Canada anyway...

Cool! The park is in Tai Po Au, but I really don't know the exact location.

List of Places I have never tried but seem promising:
Bride's Pool
Tai Shing Stream
Ng Tung Chai Waterfalls (Lam Tsuen River)

Thanks, well, Tai Po Au is cool. But Bride's Pool is well known to be haunted, (a bride committed suicide by jumping in it long ago), so, that I don't dare to go alone. If someone else coming with me, I wouldn't mind the adventure.... ;)

Uhh...some sort of loach. I'm not sure of the exact species though.

Based on the Field Guide, it might be Schistura fasciolata. However, if I have the side view of the fish, it might be easier to identify, and it is possible that my field guide is not completed with all the fish types found in Hong Kong Mountain streams.
