Worms in the tank??

Hey I found my axolotl this morning surrounded by thin long white worms, everywhere! I cleaned the tank thoroughly and had to buy new sand and plants because there were literally millions. I was just wondering how you could get rid of them otherwise? and also what causes these worms to hatch?

They're most likely white worms and are harmless. The only cause for worry is if they're clinging to your axolotl. They usually occur when there is uneaten food left in the tank. I've found it pretty difficult to get rid of them entirely but they're nothing to worry about. We only tend to notice them when their numbers boom but they will subside, then come back, then subside... the cycle continues.

Again, completely harmless. Very young axolotls willingly accept white worms as food due to their size. They can't do any harm.
