Worried sick about Axelina - please help

Hi, another update on my darling Axelina. She is still not well....She doesn't roll around herself anymore, but all she does is sleep.Mostly she doesn't react to anything, but once in a while she goes on a very little slow walk. And she eats a little bit about every 3 days.Not much,tho. Luckily she was very fat before she got ill, so now she is about medium-sized. She luckily hasn't lost too much weight. Very rarely she sorta looks at me, but even that is very rare. Am thinking maybe she got some brain damage or similar? I really hope she will improve with time. It hurts me so much to see my normally lively, social axie like this. But at least she is alive and fighting this. I so admire her strength.

poor Axelina, she has been sick for a very long time now, hopefully she will recover - it must be so stressful for you both - I am sure everyone wishes the best for both of you. It is so hard to know what is wrong with axolotls, especially when you are doing all the right things to keep them healthy. I hope she is well soon.

This sounds a lot like what benny is going through at the moment. Usually, the only signs that he is still alive is the fact that his gills are lovely and red.

Could you please let me know the name of the injections you had to give her. There is no phib doctors anywhere near me so maybe if i request 1 of the vets get me a specific course of medication, he will be able to.

Dan, what Axelina probably had was a bacterial infection in her nervous system, making her not able to walk straight, and going mental a lot, then sleeping on her left side. The antibiotic was called amikasin. But if Benny just sleeps, I don't think its the same illness as Axelina has. Am not sure how far Aldershot is from London, but there is a specialist vet near Richmond in London.
Hope Benny gets better very soon!
