This also kinda goes under tank setup but the main issue falls into this category so bear with me.
I cleaned out their tank this afternoon at around 3. After about an hour went to check on the temps in the water when one of my Axolotl's tail looks like it had been bitten. It's not bitten off but there's definitely a wound from the other Axolotls. I have been in the process of separating my Axolotls because two of them specifically have been picking on each other. I've heard to do black tea baths. However, I have no black tea (at least pure black tea) at the moment. What should I do until I can get the black tea? I separated him from the others to prevent any more injuries to him. He's the biggest out of the three I have (4.5 almost 5 inches). He looks and is acting fine and the wound isnt swollen it is slightly red. Not sure if it's because it's a fresh wound or an infection is coming up. The temperatures are at 59° in the container he's in. I have no idea how he got this wound-. I can probably assume that he was picking on one of them and they fought and bit him. It also looks like the part where it was punctured has a flap of his skin as if they just ripped it. The other two get along great however, extremely docile around each other whenever he's out of the tank. However, when he's around he picks on both of them. I am definitely now permanently removing them into separate tanks. I have tons of 30 gal tanks but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to put them in those- they are only 4-5 months old(We were told they were two months(March 20) when we got them, however on KSL, They put them as January 25th. They are also all about 4.5-5 inches long.) I don't want to stress them out if they are too young to go into a 30 gal tank alone. I upgraded their tank already from 5 to a 20 gal and the one still manage to pick on them. Add some hiding places? Nope doesn't work. Made sure they're not hungry so that way they don't try to eat each other? Still doesn't work. I have tried everything, but Smoki(The injured one) still picks on Mochi and Toothless. I don't know if it's because he may be the only male or if he's extremely territorial but I cannot risk having more injured Axolotls.
