For those who have seen my many issues the past few weeks, we have a new one.
my 6 month old axolotl had gotten some fungus shortly after I got her. When I noticed it I took her out of the tank and have had her tubbed ever since. It’s been about a week and a half in the tub. Daily water changes with dechlorinated water. I treated the fungus with methelyne blue for several days. The fungus was all gone for three days and then all of a sudden I noticed some white fluff coming from the top of her head. I treated her with methelyne blue the next two days. Yesterday it looked like it was gone. I had some trouble getting her out to change the water yesterday. She jumped and hit her head on the lid. I didn’t see any immediate problems, but today there is a red spot on the top of her head and what looks like a little bit of skin coming off. It looks a little more red in real life than in the photo. She’s eating fine and didn’t seem stressed. Her gills were a little more forward, but they seem to be like that no matter what I do. The area where the skin is coming off is where I’d thought I’d seen the fluff on her head a couple days ago, so I’m wondering if it is just an old injury showing itself or getting worse now? When she first had fungus, she swam and hit the lid of her tank multiple times, so I’m wondering if it could even be from that a week and a half ago?
I put a small bit of Furan 2 and 3 drops of methylene blue in the 2 gallon tub.
The tub is kept at 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything else I should do? Should I be worried?
