For those who have seen my many issues the past few weeks, we have a new one.
my 6 month old axolotl had gotten some fungus shortly after I got her. When I noticed it I took her out of the tank and have had her tubbed ever since. It’s been about a week and a half in the tub. Daily water changes with dechlorinated water. I treated the fungus with methelyne blue for several days. The fungus was all gone for three days and then all of a sudden I noticed some white fluff coming from the top of her head. I treated her with methelyne blue the next two days. Yesterday it looked like it was gone. I had some trouble getting her out to change the water yesterday. She jumped and hit her head on the lid. I didn’t see any immediate problems, but today there is a red spot on the top of her head and what looks like a little bit of skin coming off. It looks a little more red in real life than in the photo. She’s eating fine and didn’t seem stressed. Her gills were a little more forward, but they seem to be like that no matter what I do. The area where the skin is coming off is where I’d thought I’d seen the fluff on her head a couple days ago, so I’m wondering if it is just an old injury showing itself or getting worse now? When she first had fungus, she swam and hit the lid of her tank multiple times, so I’m wondering if it could even be from that a week and a half ago?
I put a small bit of Furan 2 and 3 drops of methylene blue in the 2 gallon tub.
The tub is kept at 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything else I should do? Should I be worried?

It should heal quite quickly. For the Fungus, though, get a black tea bath and use q-tips to get any fungus you see off. Perhaps get a deeper container for your axolotl?
Hope all is well, you have a very pretty axolotl :)

Thank you :) fortunately she looks to be mostly healed and no sign of fungus now! I’m just hoping she isn’t permanently stained blue now!!

That's good! Could I perhaps get a picture of her? 🥺

Hey, I've run into a similar problem with my 5 month old axolotle. Yours healed without using a black tea bath? I'm nervous to not let the fungus develop further. I sometimes take business trips since I work for prothesiswriter.com and I want to leave him healthy when I leave for a week.

Yes! I used methelyne blue at half strength and it worked wonders! She is a little blue now though haha. I also added Indian almond leaves in with her a few times. I did end up using the methylene blue again after I’d thought she’d healed because the fungus did come back a little several days later (on a wound) but it’s been gone for about a week now! She’s eating everything and seems perfectly happy now!
