Plants

Yes frogbit(limnobium) is a common tank plant that is frequently used in Axolotl tanks. What kind filter do you use? Some filters can get the frogbit stuck in the intake and need to be cleaned frequently. When most freshwater plants are fine but it’s important to consider the amount of light needed for those plants since Axolotls don’t like a lot of light.

I have a 40 gal sponge filter running on my 20 gal wide tank. Gubster gets a fair amount of light and he honestly doesn’t seem to mind it, I watched super close for signs of stress for a couple weeks after adding the light in and if anything he seems more relaxed with it. I put the frogbit in and it’s just sticking to its own little corner. :)
