I've had salamanders toads different types of frogs as well but newts have always been my main interest and now I currently have 15 newts in a couple different aquariums 4 females 2 actively laying eggs. you guys are exactly what I've been looking for and I cant wait to see and hear from everybody

Welcome. I have 2 pink axotles in a 40 G breeder tank, long & low. Adorable but not very inactive & love their hides. They are about a year old & have been together most of lives. I bought them a few months ago,

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
