A month ago was my first time fridging an axolotl, so I was very inexperienced, but followed the stickied guide.
After a month, I began to realize my axie was getting sort of thin, so I took him out about a week ago.
The issue is, now, he doesn't really eat that much. He used to eat a whole worm or half a thawed shrimp, but nowadays he may eat one-eighth of a worm or one-eighth of a shrimp! Also, he's really sluggish and flicks his gills very weirdly (he used to do it every thirty seconds or so, now he flicks them 7-8 times within ten seconds, then stops for about a minute, then does it again.
I've recently tested the tank parameters, and I don't see anything abnormal, so I'm thinking that perhaps it's just his metabolism recovering after not eating for a month? But I don't know. Anyone?
