You don't really need a filter either, lots of plants and regular partial waterchanges will do fine, but as long as the current is not strong, the filter will be OK.
Plenty of plants thanks! It is a " Waterfall " type filter. I will try to save for a submersible or canister filter.Currently trying to fashion an escape proof lid that is safe & effective!
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
