anyone seen this california tiger salamander in the wild or keep it in captivity? do they have the same personality and habits of the common tiger salamanders you find in petstores?.thanks
Saw one once, when I was very young. Took up residence under my grandmother's trashcans in her backyard. Have a friend, a retired biology teacher, who used to rescue californiese larvae from a pond that would dry up prematurely every summer, before they had a chance to morph into land phase adults. I don't think he knew that if he got caught even rescuing them, he could have gotten into big trouble.
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
