My axie were not getting fat even though i fed them a cube of bloodworms each!they look like a snake!and was thin , but eating and pooping fine!. Why wont they get fat! she is also a female

Earthworms are the best diet you can feed... Bloodworms are not a complete balanced diet like earthworms are.

Start feeding earthworms & they'll grow big & fat fast! :)

There are plenty of topics here on building a wormery :D
read those & make one - that'll make some axies very happy! :D

Post some pics so we can see how skinny they look - it might not be so bad ;)

Are they still on gravel? 0.0

That would be a very big chance that the cause for not eating is gravel impaction :(

What are the waters parameters?

•Temperature
•Ammonia
•Nitrites
•Nitrates
•Ph
(Have you got your test kit yet?)

What are you currently trying to feed them? Live Earthworms are an easy balanced diet to entice them to eat!

No that's not gravel lol it's a used working table for workshops, and feeding him nightcrawler, mealworm, cricket, tubiflex worms, fish, small shrimps, mealworm, frozen blood worm. And also the tank floor has no gravel , and also they have a cave.

Have you tested your water / tank?

What is the temperature?

<3 >o_o< <3

I only have ammonia testing kit 1.5 ammonia level

Your tank is not healthy if the ammonia is anything but ZERO 0.0

What are you not doing?
water changes / cleaning waste
How often / how much water changes?

I used cycled water and cleaning their waste I just changed their water and the level decreased to 0.5 and also the temperature is 30degrees

Do you mean dechlorinated tap water for water changes.... Is that what you mean by cycled water? Change more of the water, more regularly to bring ammonia down faster.

30 degrees is WAY TOO HOT!!!! :(

Such dangerously high temperatures would be a major factor as to why your axies have so many problems!
What efforts are you making to lower these temperatures? Have you got a fan to help reduce that temperature - or frozen 2L bottles (changed every few hours!) floated on top of water!

Yeah it keeps changing temperature i place them outside but roofed and sometimes the water was very cold and very hot!! i dont know why

I would keep them inside. Try putting the tank on the floor. It will be cooler, cause heat rises.

Do you have a basement or something? On the floor in the basement would be great.

What type of filtration do you have? Some types warm up the water

You are in the Philippines!
It's obviously very warm & humid there... Yet you put them outside! 0.0
Would you feel cool bring left outside???

Do you really understand what the BEST conditions are for your axie?
Have you even read any of the other threads on these forums?

Soooo many times you post with awful problems & there's people on here telling you to read some of the topics available on BASIC care - sadly you are NOT even providing the MINIMUM requirement for yours & you continue to torture the poor things!

Either start doing EVERYTHING you can for them or give them away to someone who will care for them..

I think because you are so young -
you are not taking the responsibility for caring for a living animal seriously :(
Because of you - they suffer!

With temperatures like that as a standard you should be keeping your axie in the coolest part of your house / unit - that may not be the place where you want it or can see it all the time..

Your goal should be to make your axie comfortable - & this should be an urgent priority!! If you can't get the tank temperature down - then maybe you should think about temporarily putting your axie in fridge - then you've got time to put the tank somewhere cool & place a fan near it to blow across the top of the water & keep down the temperature.

I leave them there for about a year already since it was small, it's expensive my mom bought it for me because she told me it's cool and cute. They seem to live and also they have a roof so it's like indoors it's not really very outdoor! it's on the little side with roof so it's an indoor and if I place it in my room , it would freeze to death which happened to my 2 pacman frogs.

How cold is your room? Do you freeze?

AXOLOTLS LIKE COLD TANKS
ANYTHING OVER 25degC is BAD!!!!

Just because they haven't died does not mean they are happy or healthy!

Have you read the basic information on what a good environment is for your axolotls - I'm guessing NOT!!

You have been posting about the poor health of your axies & you have done NOTHING TO FIX IT!!!

I'm so sad & angry that you do not take looking after your animals - you also do not listen to advice!!!

Your poor poor axolotls!!!!! :( :'( :(

But my room's freezing even a water freezes there!

Unless ice literally forms on the tank, they won't be too cold. I have actually had to break the ice on my tanks to drop worms in to my axolotls. Axolotls will do just fine in temperatures down to below 10c. They will DIE if you keep them above 30c. They are NOT tropical animals.

This is why they're not putting on weight. They are starving to death because their metabolism is so high. They are poikelothermic (or 'cold-blooded'). Their body is whatever temperature the surrounding water (and air) is. When it's hot, they need A LOT more food.

You are going to kill them if you continue to keep them this way.
