I'm digging that Ensatina photo.

One question: Must the photos be in a specific aspect ratio? My best photo is cropped to be square. Is that OK?

Each photo will be cropped to fit on a 17x11 inch calendar page. Obviously if the dimensions and the content can't be made to fit that size then it's not a valid entry.

Ok, what I will do is crop mine to 16x10 ratio (I have minimal photo editing software) and if any are selected, the editors can just snip a little off the sides as necessary.

One more question. . . .

I have about half a dozen photos of one species and would like to post a new thread/poll to see which might be preferred by others. Is this allowed?

Thanks!

I will let the editors know.

I don't think that's fair - the rest of us would do that too if we could.

I should add, that is why you get to post 5 entries instead of 1.

I love Kerry's axolotl.

Dick Bartlett's T. T. sierrae is definitely my favorite yet.

It's very exciting to see such art involving caudates! Each photo is breathtaking to behold. It is going to be very difficult for the judges this year, I would imagine! It is kind of intimidating to be among such seasoned veterans with such brilliant photography and skill, however, I do believe that I will be submitting at least a couple of my very best photos. It may take a while to narrow them down, but I do have some in mind already. I am really looking forward to seeing even more entries!:D

How do all of you get such hi-res photos of your caudatas? When I take pics of mine you can barely make it out, it just looks like a long black blob. :(
