About a month left in the competition and I notice some big names missing from the entrants, including past winners Henk Wallays, Travis Dimler and Tim Herman. Ordinarily this would worry me and I would find myself emailing Henk and Travis to ask them to enter, but not this year - the quality of new entrants' photos is nothing short of superb - well done everyone.

Sorry I forgot to put the species down I think it was Triturus cristatus - Catrin
