Eastern tiger salamander parasites

They actually were fine because they are already gulping air. Although they seem much happier being in water again. They are in the middle of changing and probably need another week or 2. I can't believe the guy told me to just put them in their water dish.

wow if they really sent them without water then that is straight up animal abuse. That is like sending dolphins in moist soil because they can breathe air. Im really surprised they made it alive like that

OMG, I can't believe that either

The exact same thing happened to me, I just got a tiger from them and it arrived the same way. It also has bumps too so I'm assuming they are parasites but I've never owned a salamander before so I'm not completely sure.
How is your salamander doing? My two seem to be doing well. I haven't noticed anything going on with the bumps yet.

Alright so the vet said that they could very well be parasites but probably not a bacterial infection or fungal infection. They wanted to poke the spots to see but I ended up not doing the test (a little to much). So I say just leave them be and if they get any bigger then take them in

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
