I'm interested in seeing the work of fire belly newt tanks (Chinese or Japanese).

Please post your photos here!

Thanks
Zac

Most of my live plants are out now because they are covered in eggs.

Great thread and some fantastic tanks. I'd like to ask Janusz about the substrates he has in his tanks. Do you have any problems with the newts eating it? How do you feed them?
Thanks.

Very practical, I was surprised as you have your plants, with its substrate to clean the bottom part without any problems.

Greetings;)

I love seeing planted tanks that mimic the actual habitats of the newts. Personally I think all the plastic hides and plants are too gaudy. Natural planting looks wonderful. Especially as the centerpiece of a room. All the tanks here look beautiful. I would be happy to be a newt living in these.

My 2.5ft H.orientalis tank. Two of my guys wanted to go terrestrial so i added a floating island planted with live moss , added white worms and spring tails to it. A floating woodlice island is under planning at the moment, I have added them to newt tanks before but they are very prone to running over duckweed and escaping.

Do you know what the plant is that breaks the water surface Ian?

I've had this in my FBN tank for about a year now. They love it, the roots give good cover for the youngsters and it gives them good access to the surface when they morph.

And my 55gallon housing C. pyrrhogaster:
PS I have wanted to milfoil in my tanks for several years now. So I am a little jealous;)
