Holes on the side of my Axolotl?

There’s these weird dark hole like circles on either side of my Axolotl princess. I went and looked through my pictures and he (yes he I named him before I figured out his gender) has had them for a long time but he’s never swam much before recently so I never noticed them until now. They just don’t look right but I can find anything on what they might be or any pictures showing sick axolotls that look like what he has. They are perfectly symmetrical with one on each side just a bit in front of his back legs. The picture shows one of them but there’s is another one in the same exact spot on the other side. If it’s something wrong and I need to do something or if I’m just freaking out about nothing I want to know.

I don’t think it’s a wound. I went back through my pictures and saw that the holes have been there for a few months and there’s another one his other side in the same spot. Though thanks for the article, it’s always good to read up on potential illnesses and such for my axolotls.
