I have a sizable queen about 7 inches and im going to introduce to her 3 other newts. in total it will be 4 in a 75 gal tank. any good tips and tricks to introduce them and avoid problems?
Are they all adults? As long as there isn’t a massive size difference they should be fine. Aggression is usually only a factor during feeding so try spreading food out or hand feed to avoid those crocodile rolls on limbs.
I have several of varying - but similar - sizes that didn't grow up together. As long as they can't eat each other and are watched for aggression, I don't see an issue.
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
