Awww they're growing quickly! I have the babies in a 4 ft tank now and am thinking of keeping at least 3, the gill colour is amazing.. They're red! They eat so many worms now, how do you keep your plants looking so healthy? Mine die!!! I think it's the light! Tank chemistry is all good... I've created a shipwreck scene, bottles plates pottery ect... Love the pic updates!

Perhaps some nice large crystal balls would be nice, providing they don't interfere with the water parameters.

They would be lovely

- bet they wouldn't be 4@$2 ;) lol

More updates...
Squirt is in with my big guys in the 4ft & it's all going well - although today I could've posted a
"what's wrong with my axie" thread
because this is how I found squirt earlier. o_O such a weirdo when he needs to poop lol :D

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362604819.696508.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1362604838.713882.jpg
He was completely vertical
like a spear into the ground.

Needs to poop but wants to eat more!

Such a cute weirdo :D

The little ones aren't so little -
Sparkles is now 15cm & heading into the tank with the others today
Snork is 14cm &
Sputnik is just over 12cm
So they'll be separate until they thicken up & get a bit bigger :)

Sparkles is in with the others & I was shocked he's bigger than Squirt now! 0.0 I nearly pulled Squirt out he looked like he's living up to his name lol

The introductions went well & the 2 new hides that came with him are both flavour of the month with the others :)

Great pics Nicki, they're growing so quickly, one of the brothers also likes to swim vertically! Lol they're eating so much now!!! 10 bloodworm cubes a day plus 1/2 dozen earthworms between 12! I still have a few more than I hoped but I'm sure will find homes soon, ebony (dad) has added 1/3 to his size this month... He's now two! Watch out I think they'll be big axies!!! Love your tank set up!

Awwww lovin the updates, I've found homes for all the babies now, except the three were keeping! The black one is almost as big as her daddy! The ill pink who lost her limb has fully regenerated and very healthy, she has a few black freckles on her snout!

We also have a new family member... See sick axolotyl post for a pic... Hoping he survives!
Xx thanks for the pics Nicki

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
