I have a friend that has a fire salamander that just deposited 16 gilled larvae. Before she dopestited the yound didn't eat much and now after she isn't eating at all. Its been about 3-4 weeks since he last saw her eat. Is this normal for fire salamanders? Anyone have any advice?

I would just check that she isnt too warm, they will go off food if they are, especially after dropping young. If the temp is much over 20c then she will need a cooler envioronment.

The food i use for difficult feeders, especially new stock i get,is waxworms.

I have not knpown a single fire sal refuse them, and they are handy for putting weight back on animals.
Normally used as an occasional treat, so dont feed them all the time, once she has eaten waxworms you can move onto worms or whatever.

Hope this helps.

Ben

Thank you very much. I'll tell my friend to check the temps in his tank. Hopefully ist not too hot in there.
