Hey guys awhile ago I said I was going to start up an axolotl channel and I just posted up my first how to video. It's mostly just for the beginner but I'm hoping to make them more and more advanced with each video. If you guys have any ideas for my next video I'd appreciate it!

Cover the basics! Feeding and cleaning? Maybe an example of normal axie behaviour could help too?

Will definately subscribe

I love this idea!! How many threads are created on just the the simple basic stuff? I think using "visual aides" may help out those that aren't into reading for their research. Let's give it a try

Yeah that was my next video idea is takin care of them, I also have some brown algae growing so I'll add how to clear that up a well. I'm hoping to get started on it tomorrow and posted tomorrow if not the next day.

Good quality vid man. I really like your shelving racks, could you post the source? I'm in desperate need of organization as tanks continue to fill my room.

Keep it up!

I just bought it at menards for around $150. I'm sure if you go to your local hardware store for shelving they'll have something similar. Just looks at how much pounds each shelf is rated to hold.

Great vid thanks for sharing. Like the bit about rinsing sand. Will be getting sand for my big tank and had no idea how to rinse it!

PS love the little guest appearences from your lovely dog :D

I have a feeling she'll be in all of my videos lol.

Hmm that's odd, everything seems to be in working order. Did you get it to work?

could you do one on setting up a 50 gallon for axolotls?

It would be exactly the same but with a bigger filter and more sand, plants and hides to fill up the tank

It's so funny I came across this post, before I joined I totally watched 2 of your videos! They really helped me to make sure I had my tank set up right. Thank you!

I would love to see one on normal axolotl behaviour! I see so many posts from worried owners that turn out to be completely normal behaviours, and I remember for the first two weeks whipping out the computer every time Toothless so much as yawned >.<

I can do that. Working on a cycling video right now.

Fantastic! To be honest I really look forward to the cycling video too. There's lots of fab info out there but it doesn't cover the day to day cycling business, only the during and after. I check my results on my cycling tank every two days but I'm not quite sure what exactly they're saying. I do need to read up on it a little more though.

It's great to have someone show you and explain these aspects of care in plain English (or Hungarian, or Japanese, etc) :D

Awesome! I can't wait for your other videos. It's definitely one thing to read about doing all of this and another thing to actually do it. And perfect timing for me to have watched this video since I'm probably going to be setting up at least my sand and water this week!

I would like to know how to safely transfer an axolotl from one tank to another. Living in west Texas he might be spending some time in the refrigerator if the tank gets to warm.

This is so wild, I am getting my first Axolotl very shortly so I have ben reading and watching everything I can find so I will do no harm and I saw your video on you tube just last night.

It was great. Look forward to more.

I love your channel man. It's taught me a lot. :D
Why'd you stop making vids? :(

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
