That looks urgent. I think you should go to the vet immediately, whether or not it is far.

I know but how do I take them in the car its like a 3 hour drive to the closes exotic vet

Maybe you could wrap them up in a fresh bag of dechlorinated water. Or, call them and ask for advice on your anchor worms. Show them the pictures too.

Ok ill see what I can do about taking them to the vet. But it may be a few days, in the meantime what do I do with the axolotls?

Ok shall I salt bath them as well? Also today I bought the bloodworms, the axies love them!

Hello, we have a vet appointment booked for next Tuesday, do you think the axies will be ok until then? Also have been feeding them bloodworms and they seem to be more active.

Yes they will, introduce earthworms to their diet as they are stacked with nutrients that can help fight your anchor worms. Best of luck!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
